Lizza, Oil City, PA Interview

By Interviewer at 06/25/07 09:15

What is your name?

Lizzie

What is your age or age range?

45

Where do you live?

Oil City, PA

What do you like about Pennsylvania?

Pennsylvania is a beautiful state. The landscape is stunning, especially in the fall when the leaves are turning color. I think it is one of the most beautiful states.

What do you dislike about Pennsylvania?

The hills and mountains in the winter. Can someone do something about that please? In Oil City, I have to go straight up or straight down to get most anywhere. Maybe we can level them out a little? It wouldn't be so bad, but I am originally from Ohio, where it is FLAT.

What is the most important thing to change in Pennsylvania?

I think changing the way welfare and unemployment are doled out would be a big help. There are way to many people that simply live off the system because they CAN. If you don't feel like working you can do one of two things: get on welfare, they will pay for everything including your housing, food, and medical care; or you can simply get a job and work there long enough to find a way to draw unemployment. It is important to note that I do believe there are plenty of people LEGITIMATELY drawing from these sources.

What do you think is missing from Pennsylvania?

I don't think anything is missing from Pennsylvania. We have everything we need. Maybe some more tourist type areas near where I live.

What are your thoughts about life in Pennsylvania?

I came to Pennsylvania 10 years ago, and I have been very happy living here. I can't say I have much to complain about.
